Mr. Akhbari's Weekly Message

Dear DCMS Parents and Guardians,

I am thrilled for the start of the 2023-2024 school year as it brings the opportunity to see your children again and watch them grow. Witnessing their development and progress is incredibly rewarding, and I am eager to provide them with a supportive and enriching learning environment. Together, let's make this school year unforgettable as we nurture their curiosity, creativity, and potential.

Best regards,

Mr. Akhbari

All students and parents are invited to come to Desert Canyon Middle school to meet teachers, and see their schedule. Stop by anytime between 8-11 am Friday, August 4.

Reminder: School Starts Promptly at 7:45 am

We know it's tough to get back into the routine. School doors/dates open at 7:20 am and close at 7:40 am. If a student arrives after 7:40 am, they must go through the Front Office. Plan to be early with traffic and first week jitters! The DCMS daily bell schedule is here in case you need it.

Lunch Menu

The school offers a tasty selection daily. You can see all of the menus via this link. Kids can also choose to pack their lunch.

Titan, our meal payments platform, has been upgraded to LINQ Connect. Please be sure to update your app by visiting either the App store, or by logging in at LINQConnect.com. SUSD will continue to use LINQ Connect for handling all meal-related online applications, payments, balance reminders, and transactions.

Student Drop Off - Back of School

Students can walk, ride their bikes (please bring a lock), ride the bus, or be dropped off by car. The front is not a designated drop off area. Please drive to the back of the school, by the basketball courts and directly East of the McDowell Mountain Aquatic Center. There is an entrance both directions directly off of Thompson Peak, by the bridge. It will be very busy the first week, please come early as gates/doors open at 7:20 am and close promptly at 7:40 am. Please be patient at drop off.

New Parent Orientation & Curriculum Night

New parents are invited to attend an orientation at Desert Canyon Middle School on Tuesday, April 15 at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria. Directly after, all parents will then meet their student's teachers beginning at 6 pm.
